1.How to apply to TCS Campus Drive in my Institute

You need to follow the below mentioned steps to apply for a TCS Campus Drive in your Institute:

1. Log on to the NextStep portal

2. Click on the tab 'Register here'.

3. Click ‘Campus Applicant’ to fill and submit the registration form.

4. CT Ref ID will be displayed on the screen immediately on submission of the form. You will also receive your CT Ref ID and password on your registered email Id after the form has been submitted.

5. You will need to use this CT Ref ID and password to login to NextStep Portal and in all communication with TCS.

6. After submission of the registration form, please complete the Application Form.

7. Once you have filled the application form, you can click on the Apply for Drive menu, on the left hand side of the screen. You are requested to go through the TCS eligibility criteria detailed on the page and then click on the “Apply” button to participate in the Campus drive.

8. After clicking on the “Apply” button, you will necessarily need to edit your application form by clicking on “Edit Application Form” button to complete drive registration and proceed with your application submission.

9. Once you have successfully applied for the drive, your NextStep status will be updated to ‘Applied for Drive’.

10. You will also have an option to Edit Application Form till ‘Applied for Drive’ status.

Note:Candidates need to complete application form in order to appear for TCS Recruitment Drive.


2. How to apply to TCS Campus Drive in my Institute if I have already registered & filled the application form :

Please follow the below mentioned steps to apply for the Campus Drive.

Click on the Apply for Drive menu, on the left hand side of the screen and go through the TCS eligibility criteria detailed on the page and then click on the “Apply” button to participate in the Campus drive.

After clicking on the “Apply” button, you will necessarily need to edit your application form by clicking on “Edit Application Form” button to complete drive registration and proceed with your application submission.

You will also have an option to Edit Application Form till ‘Applied for Drive’ status.

Note: Candidates need to complete both registration and application forms in order to appear for TCS Recruitment Drive.


3. What if I do not validate the details after clicking apply?

You will not be able to register for the campus drive until you validate the details in the application form and click on the ‘Submit’ button.


4. If I have entered any incorrect details while filling my application for, can I edit them ?

Yes, you can click the Edit Application Form link to edit details only till Applied for Drive status.You can track your application status through the ‘Track My Application’ tab in Nextstep Portal.

Note: You can edit all details except the First Name, Last name, Title, Gender, Date of Birth, Mother’s maiden name, email ID, Institute name and Qualification Category. In case you want to edit any of these details, please contact your TPO or write to us at ilp.support@tcs.com with a valid proof certifying the required changes to edit these details. You can edit your Qualification category and Institute name of Highest Qualification in Application form after filling in the Registration form. Once Application form is submitted, you will not be able to edit the same.


5. What needs to be filled in as Course details in application form ?

Course name refers to the name of your degree/qualification. For e.g.-Bachelor of Engineering, Bachelor of Technology, MBA etc.


6. What do I fill in the Major subject details in the Registration form ?

The Major subjects refers to the

1.  Specialization / Branch Name during your Graduation/ Post Graduation

2. Subject Names for X and XII. For e.g: s Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics during your XII.

However, please note the total and obtained marks entered have to necessarily include all the subjects of all semesters for any qualification that is entered.


7. How do I enter the details if I have done equivalent diploma instead of XII after X standard?

In the application form, under the Section of Academic and Work Experience Details you can click ‘XII/Equivalent Diploma’ and choose the relevant course by clicking on the applicable radio button “Equivalent Diploma” and enter the corresponding details.


8. How do I enter the details if I have done both equivalent diploma & XII ?

In the application form under the Section of Academic and Work Experience Details you can click ‘XII/Equivalent Diploma’ and choose the relevant course by clicking on the applicable radio button “Both” and enter the corresponding details.


9. How do I enter the details if I have done Engineering after a Diploma ?

In the application form under the Section of ‘Academic and Work Experience Details’ the candidates can choose the relevant course by clicking on the applicable radio button “Equivalent Diploma” and enter the corresponding details.


10. How do I enter details of additional diploma, apart from Engineering or equivalent diploma ?

You can mention the details of any additional diploma / course that you have completed under Any Other Qualification’ in the Academic Details section of the registration form.


11. Am I eligible if I have scored less than 60% in XI standard ?

You can appear for the TCS selection process with less than 60% aggregate in your XI standard .As per TCS Eligibility criteria, it is mandatory to score 60% or above, aggregate in all subjects and all semesters in X,XII ,Equivalent Diploma and graduation/post-graduation


12. How do I proceed if I do not have a CT Ref ID and password ?

In case you do not receive your CT Ref ID and password, you are requested to contact your Training and Placement Officer and share your email Id registered in the TCS portal. You can also write to ilp.support@tcs.com with the above details.


13. Where can I view my CT Ref number ?

Once you fill in and submit your registration form in NextStep Portal , an acknowledgement message with the CT Reference ID is displayed on your screen. Please note the same carefully, since you will need the same to log in to Next Step Portal going forward.

You will also receive the CT Ref ID with the password via email once you submit the registration form. The email is sent from the mail id freshers.recruitment@tcs.com


14. Where can I download the application form ?

Once you fill in and submit your application form in NextStep Portal, you will receive an acknowledgement message along with a link to download the application form. The form will also be available in the portal which can be accessed by clicking on the “Application Form PDF ” tab on the left hand side of your profile page . You may download the application form by clicking on the link at any stage


15. How do I enter dates in application form ?

You need to click on the calendar corresponding to each of the date fields. You can select the year from the drop-down, and then select the appropriate month and day.


16. What needs to be done if I have forgotten my password ?

You need to follow the below mentioned steps to retrieve your password in case you forget the same:

i. Click the Forgot Password option on the NextStep Home page.

ii. You will be asked to enter the Username (CT Reference ID).

iii. On entering the CT Ref ID the security question set at the time of registration will be displayed. On submission of the correct answer , you will receive the password on your primary email ID mentioned in the registration form.

Note: In case you have forgotten your security answer , you can connect with your TPO or write to us at ilp.support@tcs.com


17. What if I register as Direct applicant instead of a Campus applicant ?

Please connect with your Training and Placement Officer and share your DT Reference ID. Your profile will be deleted and you will be required to create a new profile as a campus applicant on the Next Step Portal. For all Campus Applicants, it is a pre-requisite to have a CT Reference Number.


18. Can I mention in application form if I have any part time/full time work experience ?

For any work experience mentioned on the application form it is mandatory for you to mention if the work experience was part time/ full time.


19. Where do I enter my area of interest ?

You can indicate your preferences for the below Area of Interest options which are available in the Application Form in NextStep Portal

2. IT infrastructure services
