 #Jobber Notification :

1. Never argue with your manager about deadlines

In most of the cases deadlines set is not practically possible and even your manager is well aware of it. Be confident but not over confident and always prefer saying “I will try my Best”. When you give the assurance of completing the task you set an expectation in front of your manager and if due to any reason you are not able to fulfill it, it hurts.

And in corporate world the person not fulfilling the expectation is most probably to get hurt rather than the person keeping the expectation.

2. Money is temporary, experience is forever

Salary has always been fascinating and of course we all work for money. But in the early stage of your career focus more on getting experience rather than thinking about the salary.

A few thousand bucks here and there may divert your mind but sticking to a place and getting experience can convert those few thousands to lakhs in a short span of time. Once you get expertise on a particular field you can decide your own salary.

3. You: I am a Java expert. I want project in Java

Manager: Cool! Now we want you to be a .NET expert too

Most of the college graduates always want to work in a domain of their choice. Remember it’s high time to come out of your comfort zone and face the chilling weather outside. Never expect that you will get domain of your choice and neither should you ask for it.

This is the best time to learn and experiment new things. Be ready to work on anything you are assigned. After all we are ENGINEERS we can do anything, isn’t it??

4. We are Indians and we believe in anything only if we have proof

Gone are the school days where your teacher took decisions based on words and tears. There is no space for verbal communication as a form of proof in corporate world.

Always make sure to drop a mail and take confirmation for any important updates, approvals, leave applications and important decisions so that you will have a written proof whenever you land in any issue. You never know when your senior put you in trouble to save his ass.

5. Don’t pretend to know things you don’t

If you are not sure about anything make it very clear in the beginning itself and ask for some time to learn. Don’t boast about knowing something you don’t to create a impression on your senior. As a fresher it is expected that you need some time to adjust to the new environment.
