This information is based on students who took training in ILP Hyderabad which started in July 2016.

1. Batch - July (of year 2016)

2. Deg - B.Tech in CSE (2016 passout)

3. Domain - ITIS

4. Aspire Completion - Apr 6, 2016

5. Miles - 3600

6. ILP Location - Hyderabad

7. ITIS ILP Duration - 24 days

8. Holidays - Sat, Sun

9. Timings - 7:30 AM to 5 PM, or, 9 AM to 6:30 PM (9 hrs)

10. Break - Two 15mins break, and a 1hour break for lunch.

11. Access - You will get Ultimatix + ion + zimbra (Dont ask questions on these in comments plz)

12. For getting Salary - Update Salary bank Account Number+ PAN card details+ address+ marital status on ULTIMATIX portal (must before 20th of the month, else you wont get paid


NO IRA FOR ITIS :

1. ILP is an extension of our college lives, full on fun.

2. ILP divided into - Technical and Bizskill (Business skills, Professional Grooming). Its a virtual training on ION, but instructors are there for both

3. In ILP main focus is given on Bizskill part

1. Bizskill - pre + post assessments on speaking n writing skills

2. Technical - few assessments (mainly on hardware, windows 7, windows server, networking basics + advnced + ITIL) and final PRA(this is the main test of 100 marks)

4. Pass % in Any Assessment - 65%. If one fails to get pass percentage in either bizskill post assessment(speaking+writing) or technical(PRA exam) he/she wil be in Lap for 15 days duration, that means, their ILP extends for 15 days.

In every batch, per say, of 100, on an average, they keep 10 guys in Lap for bizskills. "No one gets lap for technical. " Yes :D

5. ILP = 2℅ study + 98% enjoyment and interaction

To be honest, nothing is taught in ilp. Because, its not possible to get trained on all these technologies in just precise 20 odd days. You just have to skim through ion ppts n videos in class n bore yourself to death.

If in Bizskill you get a good faculty, then its interesting. ILP bizskill curriculum is outstanding. "Grooming at its best."

My LG's(learning group, ur joining batch wil be divided into LG based on total strength of joinees) instructor is from South Africa, knows arabic, latin, french, british+american eng. So we had an excllnt cultural+social exchnge. The activities were very interactive.

My batch was lucky enough to get preferred base branch locations(few even changed twice or thrice). This thing doesnt happen to pre-mapped associates. JL is base branch location for min 2 yrs. If premapped u wil get project in ur JL city.

And once you are tagged into a project, you have to stay in it unless the project gets completed or you get released from it due to many reasons (you will later come to know that gradually)

Presently I am in Kolkata Branch.

TCS ILP Trivandrum Food and accommodation feedback

Food Facility :

1) Food Court accessible in TEJASWANI building close to CLC. Those who will l get their training in CLC has a better choice going there. You will realize DOMINO’s, Khana Khazana, SUBWAY etc wherever you'll have food of your choice.

2) There are 2 canteens of TCS in each building and foods are offered at affordable price however I can't say you may like it. Eating there was no choice case on behalf of me.

3) People who get their hotels in Kulathoor region, you have SP bakery which can save your life. Maggie, cakes, omlet etc. are out there.

4) Outside TCS peepul Park, you can realize ARYAAS wherever you'll eat all kinds of food.

Trivandrum training center is biggest among all and TCS is planning to open training center in similar city which will have capacity to train 50,000 It professionals every year.

Accommodation in TCS Trivandrum :

Coming to the main point, this can be one of the most effective hostels they need, and nearer to Peepul Park if your ILP is being control there.

The rooms are decent over there and it’s a very calm place. Most importantly the labs are very nearby and you can access them when ever you wish  thats how the ILP head put it

1) Rooms are well supplied with basic provisions like Bedding, Bed sheet, Pillow (with cover), bucket, mug etc and are spacious enough with windows to let some air in.

Moreover your bed sheets, towels are replaced twice every week a minimum of. The bathroom is attached for every room (accommodating 2 persons) with a working shower.

2) Power backup is out there.

3) A provisional store is there close to the hostel entrance that carries everything, yes I mean everything, that you simply would like throughout your keep there, as well as Tata Docomo cellphone connection at special rates.

4) A small documentation shop cum cyber restaurant is additionally there.

5) However if you're a lover of southern dishes you will appreciate it.

6) Near the mess you'll be able to realize television room along side the table tennis and carromboard table.

7) A laundry man visits each other day thus you wish not worry for your clothes.

8) Elevator is there just in case you were unlucky to get a room on top floor i.e. 4th.

9) If you're signed to the bus service, then it visits the Hostel gate to pick you up.

TCS ILP 2016 Wonderful Journey

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED :

1. Service agreement on Rs. 100 stamp paper (no need of notary)

2. Surety verification form

3. Non criminal affidavit on 100rs stamp paper (all pages notarized)

4. Medical certificate (as close as possible to your joining date, but no issues even it is not)

5. Birth affidavit - If you birth certificate is in your local language, 100rs stamp paper and should get notarized

6. Gap affidavit - If you have break in you study, 100rs stamp paper and should get notarized

7. Other affidavits are also available if there is any conflict in like adress, fathers name (In case he is referred by other names) @ 20rs stamp paper and get notarized

8. Passport - If you do not have passport, you should atleast have applied for it and get acknowledge form (they generally allow even if you dont have)

9. They ask to bring two attested copies for each certificates and cards, but we submit ine set here.


ACCOMMODATION :

1. TCS provide accommodation and its mandatory to stay wherever they provide. They are good and also depends in the location.

2. HRA (Rs. 3880) will be deducted from the salary

3. Internet on your own

4. Cot, bed, pillow, bed sheet, blanket will be available


FOOD :

1. You can have food Morning & Afternoon in office Cafeteria

2. You can have food Night in Hostel canteen

3. Every time you eat, you have to pay, I men they are not like college histel mess

Food culture depends on the location you will get


FIRST WEEK :

1. Day 1 _ Welcome, Introduction to TCS & Document verification

2. Day 2 _ Document verification & some presentations

3. Day 3 _ Training starts

4. Day 4 _ Training

5. Day 5 _ PAT and IRA (may be on next monday)

If you forget any document, don't panic. Things goes as cool as you are. They will give you chance to submit pending dicuments till the end of ILP



PAT (Pre Assessment Test) :

1. Online test on ASPIRE material

2. 36 or 40 MCQ, I don't remember

3. Marks will be given & Simple marking

4. If you have very good score in ASPIRE and perform very bad in PAT, there is a chance of reschedule


IRA (Initial Readiness Test) :

1. Online test on tech lounge material

2. Marks and percentile will be given

3. Complex marking (Question may have multiple answers, marks will be given for each correct answer you checked, marks will be deducted for each correct answer you didn't hecked, marks will be deducted for each wrong answer you checked)

This score wont affect in any way, so don't worry much about it


CODE OF CONDUCT :

1. Follow the attire guidelines given on nextstep portal

2. Shave everyday, polish your shoes everyday

3. Tie is must on every Wednesday

4. Business casuals on Friday (You can also wear formal dress as everyday)

5. Do not use mobile inside learning rooms during diagnostic exams.

Ahemedabad and Trivandrum ILP above points are strictly followed


TRAINING :

1. Its not 100% that you will be given the same stream as in your tech lounge

2. Training for Biz Skills

3. There are two types of training for technical stream

1. Virtual training

Faculty will be there, but you will interact with them online

Daily tasks & weekly online tests


2. Faculty lead training

For those who get SAP as their stream, faculty will come to learning room and teach

No daily/weekly tests

Oracle people have both (some days that & some days this)


BASE LOCATION :

1. Just don't guess your locations & be prepared to hear any location so that you will not get depressed after getting your base locations.

2. If you are lucky enough, you will get but don't wait for them to get announced. HR will take his own time to announce.


RELEASE DATE :

1. You will be released from ILP after 60 working days. For example I have joined on 23rd June and getting released on 16th September

2. If you get posted in the same location a where you get trained, you will have to report next day; otherwise, next Monday

3. They will reimburse 2nd AC train charge from your training location to your base location

4. 3 days accommodation will be provided or 3000/- will be given to you if you get 2nd , 3rd or no preference


SALARY :

1. It's approx 13k in hand in training & 22k - 23k after getting into job


USEFUL SUGGESTIONS :

1. Learn conceptually (whatever you do, know why you are doing that)

2. Use weekends & explore tourist spots near your ILP location

3. You can make friends with different people from all over the country

4. Have fun in both learning and enjoying

TCS ILP 2016 Training Centers

Every new TCSer is excited and eager to know that what will happen in ILP. This article is especially for all those who are going to join TCS in upcoming days as freshers and want to know about training facilities and TCS training centers. I would like to share my experience of TCS Initial Learning Program (ILP). 

Starting from the day of selection till the day you complete your ILP, you will experience many things – both good and bad. The most important thing is you must know how to deal with different people. But at the end of your ILP, you will definitely come out with lots of learning and memories for lifetime. You will feel like you are revising your college life in a professional manner.

TCS Aspire (Pre ILP online training program) – All you need to know about once you get selected in TCS, you have to complete Aspire with good scores in order to get early joining letter. 

ILP corporate training centers of TCS. Once you get joining letters, you have to report at that location on mentioned date. This location will not be according to your preferred locations. 

All over India, there are 5 TCS ILP training centers as listed below.

1. Ahmedabad
2. Chennai (Karapakkam)
3. Hyderabad
4. Trivandrum – Thiruvananthpuram
5. Guwahati

Trivandrum it training center is biggest among all and TCS is planning to open training center in similar city which will have capacity to train 50,000 IT professionals every year.

TCS is operational at Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Goa, Gurgaon, Jamshedpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Noida, Tiruvananthapuram locations too. Above mentioned locations are offshore delivery centers (ODC).

About TCS ILP

ILP is a training and development program designed by TCS for all new associates. The aim of ilp program is to enhance your skills by providing technical, soft skill and business skills training. After ILP, you will be deployed to real time projects. The time period of this training is 90 days i.e. 3 months. In these 3 months, you have to learn online modules, give assessments, attend many seminars and complete project in team.

Along with all these learning, you will also make new friends for lifetime and enjoy new city and state if your ILP will not be scheduled in your home state.

 What preparation you can do before joining ILP ?

Foremost, keep all your documents ready as mentioned in TCS joining letter. Revise the Aspire chapters once and you can take help of Jobber App which contains recently asked IRA questions. Make sure you have all the documents and passport-sized photographs with you. If any one document is missed out, you won’t be able to continue your training. So, on safer side check all your documents thrice.

What is IRA in TCS ILP training ?

It's a kind of exam, Initial Readiness Assessment to test your readiness for the Initial Learning

Program. Right after some days of your placement, you all have to take the Aspire course which is a mandatory online course conducted by TCS. It is for the freshers to make them aware of the basics of Computer science & Information Technology and a little but enough about TCS also. 

After getting joining letters, Tech Lounge is also allocated to you which is basically the stream in which you will have your training.

So, to know how much basic technical knowledge you have grasped through the courses and how able you have been to make yourself fit for the training program, IRA is conducted immediately after the joining.


Pattern of IRA (Initial Readiness Assessment) :

According to Aspire and Tech lounge, IRA has been divided into two parts, IRA 1 and IRA 2.

What is IRA 1 ?

It will be held on the very first day of your ILP. It is completely based on Aspire material. There will be total 40 questions with total marks as 100 and time limit of 30 mins. One good news is that there is no negative marking in this part. Cut off would be 55 out of 100 most probably. 

There might be some changes in cut off. Questions will be very basic. It is possible that you can get questions as it is from Aspire. 

So no need to worry. Once go through all the chapters provided in the aspire before joining date. And that would be enough for getting passed in the exam. Those who get marks 52.5, will be given one more chance to clear the test and save himself/herself from reschedule. 

Yes, reschedule... Those who are not fortunate to clear the test, will be rescheduled for the next upcoming batch.

So prepare well because if you are not able to cross the required cut off, you will be put to reschedule your ILP.


What is IRA 2 ?

This part of IRA will be held on the next day( second day). Basically it is based on Tech lounge you've got. But there will be questions out of course too. It can be related to anything like HTML, assembly language code and some oracle database functions etc. 

No need to worry at all, because there is no cut off in this test. It will have 30 questions with time limit of 75 mins. There is negative marking in it so don't use guessing method. Level of the questions would be quite difficult as well.

Pattern would be like this... lengthy questions will be there... All the questions can have 1 to 3 answers correct out of 5 means there may be multiple right answers. If you wisely choose the most appropriate answers, the difficulty level increases for the next question. I think you got it.

If you don't choose the right answer the next question will be easier and vice versa.

But you cannot skip more questions in case you don't know the right one. If you do well in the test and get selected, you will be put in DIFFERENTIAL batch after having some interview process. 

You will be put in the immediate previous batch with same tech lounge. And you will complete your ILP 15 days prior to your own allocated batch. Hence you have chance to fast forward your ILP and complete the training within 50 days instead of 60.

It is likely to get your first preferred location as your base branch if you perform well in the IRA 2. Now, as you know it is a mandatory process for all of you to take IRA. So don't be afraid of it and prepare well for the day.

TCS ILP Tips : How to get Good rating in ILP ?

First of all, let me tell you that rating in ILP matters. Well, it doesn't have the power to ruin but also its good platform to prove your self.

One’s career  certainly can affect after coming out of ILP training. It’s entirely different ball game when it comes to allocating to project. TCS random number game again takes the center stage over merit when it comes to allocation of project. A lot of unseen factors come into play when it comes to allocation in project. 

There will be interview conducted for each project in which candidates will be
selected based on their skill, merit, ILP rating, willingness to work for company, attitude and how far
one lives from the office. 

An important role is also played by the RMG (kind of HR) whom under new associates are tagged. It is the job of RMGs to find project and manage associates in the initial stage. So in this entire world of uncertainty the only thing that can help you to take project of your own choice is the ILP rating.

Besides these, there are some good projects in which they only take trainees having more than 3
rating. Coming back to this rating thing, it will be awarded after the completion of training at ILP. A rating of 3 out of 5 is considered as average which is awarded to everyone and 4 is considered as better and 5 is phenomenal. 

I shall come straight to the facts what you should do to make your 3 months at training at ILP worthwhile.

1) First of all if one is a non IT/CS guy, forget it. The chances are very bleak until one is extraordinary. Anyone with computer background will find learning core concepts easily and they can score very well in internal tests. The only exception is the mainframe domain in which things are more or less equal for everyone. So it’s a fair game in mainframe as everyone is at the same level.


2) Second, one needs to be sincere and take this training seriously. Students need to leave their college care free attitude and should focus on behaving professionally. This “behave professional” or “be professional” term is going to come across many times in ILP training. 

So my suggestion is to develop a very optimistic idea about this term as it is going to be used every time one makes a mistake.


3) Always dress very carefully. Dressing sense is very important in professional world. One should wear different shades of shirts and some occasional ties and clean shoes. The dress should always be proper,well ironed and clean. 

The dressing sense should not be very eye catching. One should
follow a good dressing style with complete consistency. The Monday to Friday look should be completely consistent. This is easy to say very hard to follow daily activity.


4) Be helpful. It doesn't matter whether you are introvert or extrovert, helping others comes naturally or not to you but you should have helping nature in ILP. The whole ILP is based on the idea of sharing knowledge and helping each other. Help each and every one just like you help your friends.

And it should come naturally to you. It should not be like that you are helping others just to get a good rating but it’s a part of good team work and I will say one needs to develop this in real life too.



5) Seating arrangement in ILP is again very important. There will be people from all over the country predominantly from south. So one need to interact with them despite of all those language barriers. 

One should try to make new friends, talk to everybody and appreciate the good things about others too. The training leads always keep a notice of these activities. Just make sure one should never have a fixed seating position or a fixed group. 

Try to interact with everyone during this training. Give it a chance and I think you will yourself like it.


6) Bizskills:

These are very important classes. They are really very smart people. They will interact like friends, tell their own stories but one should not get too much involved with them as they are very professional and one should understand that they are just doing their  job. 

One should try to interact in their session, actively part in their sessions and should come forward to speak when given an opportunity to speak. 

It is worth mentioning that the bizskill lead takes a written note of one’s every activity in the class room. 

So coming to classes at proper timing, use of English language in the training campus, pronunciation of words, body language will be noticed in the record too. Try to follow a simple routine but with pure consistency.


7) In ILP soon trainees will be divided into smaller groups of size 46. Being a SPOC (Single Point of contact) of group increases the chances of getting noticed. A spoc is person who is directly responsible for the outcome of a project in a group. 

A spoc in a group is selected after initial training by common voting and discussion. One should have already done something good in order to be selected as a spoc. 

Always remember it’s the group which chooses its spoc its not the other way around. As a spoc one need to manage the work, divide the work for each person and take responsibility for the entire group in times of tough situation. At times, spoc needs to praise team members, convince them and most important of all listen to every team member.


8) There may be 34 occasions of presentations where one can have to present his module, project etc to the whole classroom. So prepare for it and plan for it. Always try to make presentations as interactive as possible. 

Try not to be boring and one more thing always have one feature that will differentiate your module from others. You have to think it by yourself. As this one thing will help you to create an impression among others.


9) Last and the most important, be optimist. Being overly optimistic is like a being a fool and no matter how hard a fool can try he will always come to find the fools end. So be wise and again think about it. Being optimist for me it to be realist, being practical and behave in the best possible way no matter whatever is the situation. 

There may be times when there are different opinions in a group over something. One should to be calm, reasonable and bring the objectives and goals of the group into picture rather than going for his personal opinions.

TCS Guide : How to register for NSR

1) Use IE (Internet Explorer) for this National Skills Registry. Although I am not an admirer of IE (in fact I don’t like to use IE – Firefox is always better), IE is better in this case (and I strongly suggest to use IE here).

2). Go to https://nationalskillsregistry.com

3). When asked “This page contains both secure and non secure items: Do you want to
display the non secure items?
Choose  YES

4). Almost at the middle see for the “NEW USER?”

Go to the “Register Now” (provided you are registering for the first time or else “Complete your Registration” (provided you already filled up some details and have to fill the rest).

5). After you click “Register Now” a new pop-up window comes (enable pop-up windows for this site)

6). Read the instructions and at the bottom with “I Agree” selected, click “Submit”.

7). Select NSR Registration Requested By “Registering at my own” (You can always change the details later, you don’t need to select anything right now if you are a fresher and if you are presently employed give your employer name and ID. I telephoned Alankits Assignments, they suggested the same thing).

8). Then in the personal information fill up the relevant details.

Mother’s maiden name means “Surname that she used before she was married”. You don’t need to write the full name, only surname is required.

9). Fill up the present address in block letters. Your NSR IT Card will be delivered to this address or else the permanent address (you can choose that later in the steps), so fill it up
carefully.

10). Fill up the immediate previous address (if any). If you stayed at your present address for more than 1 year, then only you need to fill up this block else this block cannot be filled up.

11). Permanent Address in Block Letter. If it’s the same as the present address then the present address will be reflected back in this block else you need to fill up the permanent
address.

12). Other Personal Information:

Country code for India is 91 (Don’t write + or 0, only the country code).
If you don’t know your country code then you can find it here:

Then write state code i.e. the STD code (Example. For Kolkata it is 33) and then the phone number. For your area’s

STD code look here:

13). Enter your E-mail ID carefully because you IT-PIN will be initially sent to your email.

14). If you have Passport and/or PAN enter the details, else leave the fields blank.

15). Authentication part is the next one. Fill it up. Log in Id can be anything you wish (more 
than 5 letters). There are 2 passwords Log in and Transaction. Password Rules are given there, read that and then set the passwords (passwords cannot start with a number, it must contain one uppercase and one lowercase letter and a number. 

Minimum length is 8 characters and maximum is 15 characters). Two password cannot be same. In short your passwords should be strong passwords.

16). Then press “Save and continue”.

17). Here you will get your Acknowledgment number. Write it down or note it.

18). Then you will have to fill up the education details. If you don’t have any professional certificates, leave them blank. (remember you can always change then later, so don’t worry).

19). If you are not currently employed, then when asked for “Presently employed”… choose “No” (this is what I did because I am a fresher). This will make all the fields inactivate and you can proceed. Else fill up the relevant details.
(Again if you wish you can always change these things later).

20). Choose the card delivery address.

21). Click on “Submit and View”.

22). The details entered by you will be displayed in a single page. Here you can either modify them (in case of errors or if you wish to add something extra) or leave them as they are after re-checking them.

23). Then click on “Continue your registration by doing the payment”.

24). Registration amount will be displayed and you have to choose the payment mode.

25). You can either pay online or at the location of POS (Offices assigned by NASSCOM). I am no-one to suggest anything but still I think payment at POS is a good option because you have to go there to submit your fingerprints, so then you can also pay the fees along with your fingerprints. You can pay by either cash or DD.

26). Now you will get your ITP Web Registration Acknowledgement Form. For so long I suggested you to use IE, now you will find why! If you did the same thing in Mozilla Firefox, then you also get additional address details when there is no address column on the left! so IE is better in this NSR case

27). Print the (ITP Web Registration Acknowledgement Form). Then with your photo attached and signature in the form, go to a POS (Point of Service) with the fees and a Photo identity [Voter's Id card / Passport / Driving License / Bank Pass Book (with Photo) /College I card (not more than 1 year old) / PAN card / Employment Identity Card] within 50 days of completing the online registration. The validity of the acknowledgment form is also mentioned in the form itself.

29). The whole process of taking fingerprints takes about 5-7 minutes.

30). After paying the fees and fingerprints, you will get your IT-PIN in a short duration. It will be sent to your email id (the one you provided).

31). You will get your card within 20-30 days. You can check the card status also.
